About Us
The Full Story
Sparrow Aircraft was established in early 2025 as a way to offer affordable flying to all pilots. Alex (the owner) realised that flying schools and Aero Clubs rarely allow long-term hire or cross country flying, locking out pilots from truly exploring Australia from the air, or building hours unless they own their own aircraft themselves.

We are happy to offer our aircraft to all those with an RPL or greater, because we trust our pilots to look after the plane as if it were their own. We invite you to truly enjoy aviation without limits and to leave all the heavy lifting to us.

Aircraft Maintenance and Certification
Our aircraft are maintained in the strictest accordance with CASA regulations, having all scheduled and itinerant servicing conducted locally at ChrisAir. To ensure your peace of mind, all logbooks and maintenance records are available on request.

As owner operated aircraft, we take great pride in detailing each to provide the best experience for our pilots. We always go above and beyond to offer you with a machine you can feel proud of operating for long periods of time.

Currently, our aircraft are certified in the private category, meaning you cannot conduct air work, training or charter operations. This is so we can keep our costs low and pass the savings on to you.
Our Location
Sparrow Aircraft is located at Mackay Airport, QLD (YBMK) - half an hour flight South of the Whitsundays. With multiple scheduled flights per day from Brisbane, we are accessible from interstate for a cost far less than you think.

We offer a drop-off service from the Mackay passenger terminal to the aircraft, and can recommend local food and accommodation if required.

With white sand, turquoise water and green cane fields, we believe this is the most beautiful place in Australia to start your aviation journey.
