Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions that are not answered below, feel free to email or call us.

What are your minimum requirements?

Our insurance covers pilots with a recreational pilot's license (RPL) with at least 25 hours of total flight time. You will also require a current flight review and Class 5 CASA medical.
No time on type is required!

How do I start flying?

Before handing you the keys, we will need a copy of your license, medical and logbook for insurance purposes.

For all new pilots, we also ask that you set aside up to an hour for a ground brief and a couple of circuits for familiarization with our aircraft. We are not flight examiners - as long as you feel comfortable, you're free to go!

How long can I hire the aircraft for?

Cross country flying is one of the great joys of aviation. We trust our pilots and encourage you to hire the aircraft for as long as you need, providing the maintenance remains current.

Email or call us to discuss our long-term and flexible hire options.

Where are your aircraft based?

Our aircraft are hangared and maintained in Mackay, with availability for pick-up at the Mackay (YBMK) Western GA tie-down area.

Is there a limit to how much I can fly?

There is no limit to how much you can hire our aircraft.

On longer flights (over 6 consecutive hours), we can only offer a dry rate, due to the variable cost of fuel around Australia. For your convenience, we provide company BP, Viva and WorldFuel cards so can always find AVGAS wherever your journeys take you.

Can I hire your aircraft whever I like?

Of course, we can organize key drop-offs and fueling whenever you require.

Simply book, or contact us 24 hours in advance to allow us time to get everything ready for you.
